At last. Spring is here. Sun is shining and everything seems possible. I draw this little angel looking out of the window from my local coffee shop and realise nothing could be more appropriate.

Today feels really positive. Off to meet cyber geeks in Shoreditch tonight at MiniBar for advice on turning my little angels into an iPhone app. Having to learn loads about Blogger. Never know, I may get the number of followers up into the thousands (!) once I learn how to use these blogs. Definitely more action on Facebook and connecting with loads of old friends and acquaintances. I guess you never stop learning ... even when there's litlle angels looking over your shoulder all the time, spinning cartwheels in the air.

Music is magic

Music is a constant inspiration, though tastes change over time, I am often put into a trance state by the poetry of Tim Wheater's wonderful flute. This little angel was inspired by Tim's CD 'In Unity'. Do check out http://www.timwheater.com/.

Tim was also doing workshops at the One World festival last year, and I hope will be coming along to the next one in Great Malvern on 9-15 August. Will be great to meet up again.

Poverty in perspective

Today I saw a photo of a woman preparing a meal in a Calcutta slum in The Guardian newspaper, and it struck me how simultaneously the image is both romantic and despairing. The woman clearly has a relationship to the earth, a partner and child and an aesthetic taste which is increasingly copied in the west. At the same time, the journalist mentions that raw sewage flows past the homes. The women are mostly poorly paid cleaners and most of the men are scavengers 'gleaning a pitiful living from recycling the waste of Delhi's 14 million inhabitants'. Here in the west, recycling is encouraged. There it is a necessity. There, a strong relationship can be necessary for survival. Here we consider it optional with ever increasing divorce rates or people living alone. There, vegetables and rice are staple to diet. Here, cooking anything apart from a TV dinner or calling up a takeaway is par for the course. Who is truly rich? The angel looks on and there is a suspicion of a smile on the woman's face.

Every day has another delightful surprise. Today I started drawing this little angel cartoon when my young son Zac (5) asked if he could take part. "Sure!" I said (thinking, how appropriate!) and you can see the result here.

At last Spring appears to be here. The sun is shining. The first buds are appearing on the trees and I'm already thinking about new opportunities. Just been contacted by the New World Festival (http://www.macrobios.com/) to run more workshops this summer on Angels, cartooning and creativity The next festival will be held in August at New Malvern in Birmingham, and tends to draw several hundred amazing new age teachers, artists, therapists, friends and family. Last year threequarters of my family turned up ... always loads to do, from bodywork in the early morning, to chanting and gongs with my old friend Tim Wheater and dance and tantra workshops in the evening. Not to mention sitting around the campfire till the early hours, musing, meditating, drumming and chatting with new and old friends. Also they plan to do a One World Festival in Italy this year, which sounds appealing.

Still thrashing around the net trying to learn about internet marketing for my little cartoon angels book 'Angel Delights' (www.myangeladay.com) . Getting lots of advice and feedback. Make sure you get a copy before they all run out!

This little angel was inspired by the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela gaining freedom and literally changing the world for so many. What's extraordinary is that the image of Mandela as a 'baby angel' seems to work as well as the spry old man we see on our TV sets etc. I love this phrase, it offers hope and courage to everyone.

This phrase works fo me in two ways. Sure it's a bit sad ... but so are most of the best love songs. Nevertheless it's also optimistic, which I suppose is the driving force of life itself.

I really have no idea how many people will eventually share and appreciate my funny little angels. But it seems so right to put them out in the world today. I have always felt that we need something of inspiration to start the day along with a cup of tea or coffee.

Here is a new angel card I created at Maison Bertaux in Soho, London today. Anais Nin's famous words mean a lot to me, faced like many of us with financial challenges and other uncertainties in a world still struggling to recover from deep recession. I hope my little angel can give others the strength to keep going on whatever it takes, whatever the ladder you have to climb to reach the love of your life.

By the way, there's a delightful exhibition of paintings and installation boxes at Maison Bertaux which were recently reviewed in Dazed and Confused. Well worth a visit, as well as spoiling yourself with one of their fabulous cream cakes.

I see they've also built a little shrine to Alexander McQueen downstairs. I'm sure he used to drop by their regularly in the past, as he used to be a fashion student at St Martin's School of Art nearby.

Like a rose

Spring and good times are coming. I spotted this rose at a delightful cafe in Fortis Green Road, Muswell Hill called Emporium which is full of handmade gifts for yummy mummies and their kids. My own book Angel Delights seems to be going like wildfire. The homemade cakes and teas are delicious and there's a chance a may run one of my cartoon workshops for kids there sometime. I'm actually running a 'Cartooning For Kids' workshop at the London Jewish Cultural Centre in Golders Green on 7 March, and it's already over-booked ... so another will follow. What's more, my friend Sarah Vaci is also running one of her 'Animation for Kids' workshops at the LJCC, which should be great.

They say a celebrity endorsement can work wonders!!! Well here's a lovely famous guy (who you may know from 'The Office' or 'Pirates of the Caribbean') taking a flick through my 'Angel Delights' the other day. He said he thought it was 'Great!' and had spotted me drawing new angels before. Then took a copy home to show the kids and join his collection of funny books .... cool.

There seems to be a theme here. Yesterday morning I pulled out this Angel card about 'tidying your thoughts'. I was sitting in a little cafe and drew one of the waitresses ... She didn't seem to mind. Said it was how she felt most of the time!

Sometimes we do the right things for the wrong reasons or the wrong things for the right reasons. However, you've often got to admit ... It's been one of THOSE days. I swore at the bank's call centre over a surcharge ... then learnt I'd been given a refund also! My angels still seem to be looking on fondly but it's sometimes difficult to catch what they're getting at.

Accidents happen

Sometimes magic happens when you least expect. I accidentally spilled ink on my notebook and it created this spot ... which inspired the following Angel cartoon.

OK ... so what's it all about? The difference between men and women? The difference between being happy or miserable? Different hair styles ... or simply that SPOT and where you put your perspective?

The temperature in the office feels above boiling point. My desk is overflowing with bills, work to do and stuff to follow up. I decide to head for the local Starb**ks clone (near my office in Angel, Islington, London) to have an iced coffee. Then I pick an Angel card ... and this comes out!

I was sitting on a little pier on Redondo Beach, LA, California, having coffee and pancakes at a little cafe called Polly's when this Angel cartoon came to mind. Had an extraordinary discussion with a guy called Leo, who runs several businesses while sunning himself here and having breakfast every day on the pier. He truly seems to love what he does and does what he loves ...

I also met Oscar (above) in a bar neareby. He's a former gang member who now does fantastic work with orphans in Mexico and has also worked on a battered women's retreat. Amazing fellow. I spent most of the week at Book Expo America trying to hunt out a literary agent for my book Angel Delights. There were lots of distractions with book signings by just about every big author you could name (and a lot you couldn't) including Jackie Collins, Neil Gaiman and the wonderful Louise Hay. Had a fantastic time and at the eleventh hour I was actually taken on by Eckhart Tolle's agent ... feels a bit like winning the Lottery!

Here again these wonderful little angels seemed to guide me to the right place, at the right time in the City Of Angels. Bless 'em. I truly hope they have the same luck for you.

Hi. This was Victoria Station, London, UK, at 9.00am the other day, just before the start of the Festival of Mind Body and Spirit. Smile spotting is a great game ... and you quickly see a circle of smiles radiating from any happy person in the crowd. It's amazing ... try it for yourself. Smiles really make a difference. It couldn't be more simple to change the world!

Now I'm off to LA ... and will try to keep the cartoons flowing daily .. though I've drawn hundreds over the last few days... OK here's another .... little bit rough ... but I was sitting in a lovely Thai restaurant in Crouch End, north London where the food was simply fabulous and the decor really serene. I happened to ask the manager if she was living her dream as everything was so perfect ... and surprisingly she replied 'NO' ... which made me think ...

Another day ... another angel

Gandhi said it all and continues to inspire some of the most creative world changers on this planet. Each and every angel also wants the best for us and the wonderful planet we live on. Simply look, listen, feel your feelings and take action ... miracles will happen, and we will create the world we all richly deserve.

First copies of ANGEL DELIGHTS arrived today ... and even the guy at the warehouse bought a copy because he said it struck a chord! Within a few steps, some lovely people in the local cafe bought two copies ... and promised to get another for a sister. Then it was down to Finsbury Park and my friendly Algerian snack bar owner bought another...

I happened to ask a lady at the next table if she believed in miracles "No! but my daughter does!" and her male partner, French and working at the French Embassy bought another. What's more, we started talking about how to make his dreams come true...

pretty soon the whole cafe was buzzing...

And this is only the beginning.

Bit manic at the office as we prepare for the Festival of Mind Body and Spirit at the Royal Horticultural Halls in Victoria on Wednesday (for six days on stand 79a). Ras Bumba dropped by... and tsaid they are constantly playing his angel song '"Your Life" on one of the pirate radio stations....

We truly live in Angel Times....

Sunday's Angel

Only a day to go till I receive the first copies of ANGEL DELIGHTS. This is truly a turning point. Many bridges have been built recently to make my dream come true, and I will do everything possible to make yours come true also.

Each angel message has such resonance and the miracles are happening with increasing intensity each and every day. Discovered a marvellous little cafe down the road today called Andre's Cafe, at Park Road, Crouch End, London, whose wife was covered in angels ... an angel necklace, angel bracelet and angel brooch. There's no coincidences, simply synchronicity or the funny stuff - serendipity. And they want to buy a few copies, as soon as they arrive tomorrow.

That afternoon saw the Countess in Camden Passage Islington ... in the centre of an area called ANGEL. Her tiny shop is a treasure palace filled with angels literally, made by her son, Count Alexander, who specialises in jewellery made of non-blood diamonds... these are extremely precious artefacts made of zircons and Swarkovski jewels, and his fabulous jewellery often features in films like Titanic and Leonard De Cipprio's recent Blood Diamonds..... Unfortunately the shop is soon to close because the arcade has been taken over by a property developer. So the Countess and her son (6ft6in tall and looking like the Count of Monte Cristo) are moving back to Austria .... the jewels will be available on the web... but the angels may have some surprises in store!

Wednesday 21 May sees launch of ANGEL DELIGHTS on stand 79a at the Festival of Mind Body and Spirit, Royal Horticultural Hall, Victoria, London SE1. Over 22,000 people are expected to visit, with amazing speakers like Marianne Williamson, Diane Cooper of the Angels, Angel Lady Jacky Newcomb, the Barefoot Doctor, William Bloom and many more...

ANGEL DELIGHTS and myangeladay has a tiny but very extraordinary stand on stand 79a, with me doing cartoon signings, the book on sale, pictures by spirit painter Shelly Vickers-Pertz and CDs by the soul of Bob Marley, my Rasta friend Ras Bumba - 'Rise Up' has a brilliant track called 'Your Life' which has beenmy theme song in recent months ... this will be wild... Hope to see you there..
